Play Centre

Play Centre 10 Students

We focus on nurturing a love of learning, social and emotional development, physical health, and early academic foundations. Children learn self-awareness, self-care, and take part in activities that build fine and gross motor skills. By the time they leave, we aim for them to be confident and ready for grade R.

Our play centre serves 10 children ages 3–5 weekdays from 9am – 12pm, based on the WCED school calendar.

A Safe Space to Grow

In communities where safety is often a concern, the Play Centre provides a sanctuary. We focus on:

  • Early Childhood Development (ECD): Providing age-appropriate educational play that prepares younger children for their formal schooling years.

  • Emotional Therapy: Integrated into the weekly curriculum, our cohort of 10 students participates in play therapy sessions. Our professional counselor also provides individual support and engages with families if additional assistance is required.

  • Nutrition & Health: Every child in the Play Centre receives 2 nutritious meals a day and regular basic health screenings, ensuring they are physically ready to thrive and learn.

  • Creative Expression: Through art, music, and storytelling, we encourage children to find their voices and build self-confidence from a young age.

Who Can Apply & Requirements

The no-fee play centre offers a safe, supportive early learning environment for young children. Families must reside in underserved communities and meet the following requirements:

The Play Centre goes beyond early learning by creating a space where children feel seen, valued, and secure. By nurturing emotional development alongside foundational learning, we help children build confidence, independence, and a love for learning from a young age. Our approach is centred on play, routine, and positive relationships, laying a strong foundation for each child’s educational journey ahead.
