Prep Centre

Before being invited into the academic rigour of Alex School, students spend a vital 18 months attending the Muizenberg based after school Prep Centre. Initially, one afternoon a week for the first six months, this increases to three afternoons a week for the remaining twelve months.

Bridging the Gap

Students come to us from under-served schools where academic gaps have formed. The Prep Centre provides the opportunity to:

• Learn How to Learn: Moving away from rote learning toward critical thinking and curiosity.
  
• Core Literacy & Numeracy: Mastering the building blocks of English and Mathematics through concrete, experiential learning.
• Digital Literacy: Equipping students with the tech skills required for the modern world and our online learning models.
• Emotional Awareness and Healing: Access to mental health practitioners and group counselling to begin the journey of emotional wellness.
