Alex School

Alex School is where our students’ formal high school journey takes flight. Following the initial 18 months at the Prep Centre, students transition into this intensive 3 year programme – Grade 10, 11 and Matric.

Our mission at the Alex School is to provide a world-class education within a trauma informed framework. We recognize that for a student to achieve their full academic potential, they must first feel physically and emotionally safe. By bringing education “in-house” at our Muizenberg campus, we create a sanctuary where students can focus entirely on their future.

Supported Online Learning

The Alex School utilizes a sophisticated Supported Online Learning model. This allows our students to access high-quality, modern curricula while benefiting from the immediate, in-person support of our dedicated teachers and tutors, who are always close at hand to offer 1-on-1 academic support, clarify complex topics, and keep students motivated. As students move toward Grade 12, the focus shifts to specialized subjects and exam readiness, ensuring they are competitive for tertiary placement.

• Years 1 (The Foundation): Students focus on core Grade 9 and 10 concepts, solidifying their understanding of English, Maths, and Sciences.
• Years 2 & 3 (The Matric Path): itive for tertiary placement.As students move toward Grade 12, the focus shifts to specialized subjects and exam readiness, ensuring they are competitive for tertiary placement.
• In class support: While the curriculum is digital, the experience is highly personal. Our teachers, tutors, and mentors are always close at hand to offer 1-to-1 academic support, clarify complex topics, and keep students motivated.

Experiential Education

Learning at Alex School happens just as much outside the classroom as it does inside. Our students participate in:

• Educational Excursions: Regular day trips to museums, science centres, and historical sites across the Western Cape.
• Life Skills Workshops: Practical training in time management, digital fluency, and healthy communication.
